The UK government has pledged to end the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040, as part of its “Road to zero” plan. This however, does not put a complete ban on diesel and petrol vehicles. They have also pledged to reduce vehicle emissions to zero by 2050, despite climate campaigners complaining it’s not soon enough.
With legislation changing from July 2020, all new electric and hybrid vehicles seeking approval in Europe will have to emit a noise when travelling at low speeds – Existing vehicles are expected to gradually be retrofitted with devices.

It’s common knowledge that electric/hybrid vehicles are better for the environment as they create less pollution. Many vehicle manufacturers are now doing their part by using recycled materials in the production process.
Your carbon footprint can be improved even further, when charging your vehicle from home/work if it runs on renewable energy (e.g solar, wind, hydro)
Another advantage is the sound element, which is almost eliminated when driving at low speeds. Although this is good for the environment, it poses a great risk to pedestrians and other vulnerable pedestrians/road users, if they can’t hear a vehicle approaching.
