How dangerous is riding a bicycle?
Did you know that you are fifteen times more likely to be killed on British Roads if you ride a bicycle than a car?! Frightening to know that the eco-friendliest mode of transport has the highest death rate!
The Department of transport pledged in March this year £21 million to improve on and off-road stretches, of the 16,000-mile National Cycle Network. We believe more still needs to be done to improve cyclist’s safety on everyday roads.
What is the FORS scheme?
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme encompassing all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. FORS helps fleet operators to measure and monitor performance and alter their operations in order to demonstrate best practice. It is open to operators of vans, lorries, mini-buses, coaches and other vehicles, and to the organisations that award contracts to those operators.
